On June 24 the Exelon Nuclear Plant Health and Wellness Fair was held. It brought together families who enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate wellness as well as one another.
The event united the organization’s annual wellness fair with their “Take Your Child to Work Day.”
The occasion was graced by PAWS of CNY (Pet Assisted Wellness Services of Central New York) volunteers together with their certified therapy pets.
Many people showed up to learn about PAWS of CNY and its Oswego therapy dog programs, the attendees clearly enjoyed petting the dogs.
The Exelon Nuclear Plan Health and Wellness Fair offered PAWS of CNY a platform to share information about the advantages of pet therapy with the residents as they work on expanding their services in Oswego County.
PAWS of CNY, Inc. (formerly Sunshine Friends, Inc.) offers pet-assisted wellness services to colleges and universities, community partners, nursing homes, airport travelers, hospitals, schools and libraries Cayuga Counties, Cortland, Oswego, Madison and Onondaga.
The families enjoyed interacting with the therapy dogs and the dogs also loved all the attention they were receiving.
Wellness programs like this prove that nuclear power companies are not only concerned about energy but they have a soft spot for people as well.
